The Tax Analyst is responsible for state and provincial transaction tax compliance and is involved in federal and state income tax compliance for a Commercial Finance Company.
Job Duties include (but are not limited to)
  • Preparing transaction tax returns i.e. sales & use, GST/HST, property, business, & activity tax returns monthly, quarterly and annually as required.
  • Submit payments for transaction tax returns.
  • Manage sales & use tax software and implement updates.
  • Reconciliation of transaction tax general ledger accounts.
  • Review requirements for current year 1099 form reporting and assist with form preparation for vendors.
  • Assist with federal and state tax audits.
  • Assist with response to tax correspondence and research issues as they arise.
  • Assist with estimated income tax payments.
  • Submit payments for quarterly estimated income taxes.
  • Responsible for accounting for fixed assets.
  • Assist with booking contracts into the loan administration system, with an emphasis on tax leases and peak volume times.
  • Keep up to date of current developments in the tax area.
  • Conduct special analysis and research on a requested basis.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting required.
  • Skilled excel user, experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains a plus.
  • Accuracy, attention to detail and excellent communication skills a must.
  • Ability to interact with various departments and outside reporting jurisdictions to achieve most favorable outcome for the Company.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work effectively on multiple tasks in a fast- paced environment.
