The Gist…
Amivero seeks a Human Resource Business Partner to support the HR Department of an IT company providing services to the US Federal Government. We are looking for someone who can embrace the uniquely welcoming and employee-centric culture of Amivero, a woman-owned IT firm in GovCon, and leverage their role to proactively assess a situation, offer a solution, and make any necessary improvements/adjustments to the existing process or lack thereof. We are looking for someone to build upon the foundational workflows in place, own all aspects of HR, and serve both as an empathetic resource to every employee and as a resource to the senior leadership team for making informed decisions. Success means anticipating needs in a fast-growing company, automating where possible, and reflecting the core values of Amivero when staying ahead of our ever-changing industry landscape.
What Your Day Might Include…
- Effectively gather and review data to make improvements in employee satisfaction, engagement, and retention
- Solutioning situations and improvement recommendations keeping in mind Amivero’s culture and passion for supporting our customers
- Partner with senior leadership to offer suggestions for improving engagement with their teams, to further drive retention, and to focus on overall satisfaction at work
- Train and enable department managers in following processes that are owned by HR
- Counsel and serve as main POC for employee relations issues, to support both employee and manager through the policies, process, and tools available to work through issues
- Collaborate with vendors and brokers for HR Benefits offerings and assist with implementation and execution of offerings
- Maximize vendor support in drafting and handling issues, new documents, market research and take over when it becomes employee facing.
- Run annual reassessments and negotiations with benefits vendors and brokers, present recommendations and alternative options to Senior Leadership.
- Manage and execute the onboarding and offboarding process flow.
- Appreciate and manage daily unexpected requests for assistance, clarification, and redirection to POC best suited to address the issues.
- Data collection for analysis on effectiveness of each effort used to promote employee engagement, retention, and collaboration.
- Visually represent data and propose solutions to senior management in a concise manner.
- Staying apprised of state & fed employment and labor policies, analyze whether Amivero is compliant
- Propose to senior leadership improvements and changes to keep Amivero competitive and compliant with industry practices, policies, and processes as desired
- Managing benefits vendors and brokers to ensure timely response to employee needs; anticipate resources that would be helpful to educate our employees and make them available on SharePoint
- Discipline and handle termination of employees as per Amivero’s policies
- Coming from a state of mind that wants to provide guidance and propose solutions; comfortable explaining proposals and seeking buy-in from senior management; understanding when senior leadership makes opposing decision as what’s strategically best for the survival of the company at that time, and it can be tabled for future reassessment.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications…
- US Citizenship Required to support government contracting company
- Bachelor Degree + 5 years of Human Resources experience
- Ability to travel to our Reston office a min of 2x per week
- Previous experience supporting a government consulting company
- Strong empathetic problem-solving and decision-making skills that ensure fully gathering a situations perspective from multiple parties, coming from a place of assuming others have positive intent.
- Time management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize accordingly.
- Tendency to overcommunicate is preferred.
- Experience with Unanet and Paylocity strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of HR compliance
