**Job Title:** Surgical Technologist
**Job Specialty:** Operating Room, Orthopedic, Surgical Technologist
**Job Duration:** 13 weeks
**Shift:** 36 hours/week, days/evenings, 12-hour shifts, 0615 - 1900 weekday rotation
**Guaranteed Hours:** 36
**Experience:** Minimum of 2 years of scrub experience, preferably with cardiac, thoracic, and transplant experience including heart and lung transplants
**License:** Valid Surgical Technologist licensure (Non-expiring during the assignment)
**Certifications:** BLS certified through the American Heart Association ONLY
**Must-Have:**
- Experience in an Academic Level 1 - Trauma center or similar size hospital
- Prior traveler experience is highly preferred
- Successfully completed a surgical technologist program or equivalent experience
- Two completed references from recent supervisors or managers from the last two years
- Permanent address outside a 50-mile radius of Madison
**Job Description:**
- Prepare the Operating Room prior to surgery
- Promote patient safety during surgery
- Provide assistance to the surgeon during surgery
- Care for the patient and instruments during surgery
- Function as an essential member of the surgical team
- Possess knowledge and skills for effectively caring for patients across all age groups (neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric)
Additional Information:
Travelers may float to floors working with children up to 1 year old and/or based on competency skills and experience. May have shifts scheduled in multiple units depending on staffing needs. Shifts may be re-assigned if the primary unit no longer has a need.
