Description
Aurora wouldn't be an industry leader in providing energy market forecasts, analysis, insights, and consultancy without our successful commercial team.
We are seeking a Commercial Associate to sell our products and services which help the transition towards a more sustainable world. You will work in a dynamic pan-North American team, responsible for sales and account management activities of our subscription and software services.
You will play a key role in all aspects of client interactions and business development. The role will focus on being the client face of Aurora, creating and maintaining commercial opportunities for our full range of products, with customers within your designated power market. A successful candidate will have a strong commercial mindset, interest in energy markets, exceptional organizational skills and communications skills, eagerness to learn, and the ability to nurture client relationships.
You will work in a young, dynamic, stimulating, demanding and collaborative environment. You will join our North American commercial team, which is continuously growing and offers an accelerated path for progression through geographical and product offering expansion (including new research products and software-based solutions).
Key Responsibilities
  • Represent Aurora commercially across an array of clients showcasing a comprehensive understanding of our offerings
  • Qualify, develop, and maintain sales opportunities by leveraging product knowledge and understanding how our solutions address consumer needs
  • Generate new leads and grow account relationships to develop a robust customer pipeline
  • Meet with clients to discuss our offerings and deliver commercial proposals to customers
  • Use Salesforce CRM to ensure standard processes during all sales stages
  • Negotiate and contract structured offers
  • Manage accounts to deliver great customer experience and high engagement
  • Gather market intelligence and client feedback to assist research teams in new product development and to improve our existing offerings
  • Collaborate with marketing to develop new marketing material and identify sales channels
  • Support the development of Aurora's long-term commercial strategy in North America and globally
What we are looking for
Required attributes:
  • Prior experience in relevant areas (Renewables, Energy, Sales, Commercial roles)
  • Relevant Bachelor's or Master's degree
  • Strong commercial mindset, including creativity and intuition to create opportunities for impact and commercial success.
  • Demonstrated interest in renewable energy or power markets; Enthusiasm and curiosity about the energy transition
  • Excellent organization skills, attention to detail, and ability to operate autonomously
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication as well as interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate and collaborate with both technically and non-technically minded people.
  • Evidence of strong collaborative performance to thrive in team-oriented roles
  • A can-do attitude and willingness to help wherever needed e.g. improving internal systems and processes.
Desirable attributes:
  • Sales, business development and client relationship experience in the energy industry, especially in energy research/analytics subscription sales
  • Ample experience with Salesforce or other CRM system is beneficial
  • Previous professional exposure to energy economics, power markets and power networks would be an advantage
  • Demonstrated success in client-facing positions and managing competing priorities
  • Knowledge and familiarity with US power markets, with a focus on one ISO
