GE Appliances’ Sales Director – Business Development, Small Appliances is responsible for driving growth of all small appliance product categories (Ice, Beverage, Food Prep & Cooking) with new customers and channels. Direct responsibilities include prospecting/evaluating new accounts, on-boarding new accounts, and managing accounts post onboarding. This role will have a Senior Sales Specialist direct report who will help manage the sales, sales operations, and customer marketing priorities.
This sales director will also work closely with the Microenterprise team to align channel and product priorities most effectively increase small appliance sales.
The ideal candidate is someone with an entrepreneurial spirit who is a collaborative self-starter, able to take on the role of player/coach and help CREATE this new business development area.
We want to drive small appliances faster, extend our presence into places we have yet to reach, ultimately enabling long term growth for the small appliance business at GE Appliances.

How You'll Create Possibilities
Essential Responsibilities- Sell the entire portfolio of Small Appliances products to new customers including national and regional players (Online Retailers, Department Stores, Sporting Goods Retailers); and other channels as deemed necessary to create volume and establish the proper industry presence.
- Identify and pursue new distributors or other undefined business opportunities to grow the territory and deliver sales targets.
- In collaboration with Senior Sales Specialist, Sales Operations and the Microenterprise teams, drive new customer on-boardings and acceleration of existing customer performance.
- Establish credibility across the region/company as the Sales expert and Champion of the small appliance products and programs.
- Execute and achieve all product specific sales and margin plans by leading and executing product distribution, pricing and promotional plans.
- Prepare and deliver training and product presentations, driving the GE Appliances Small Appliances value story.
- Serving as the face of GE Appliances to customers, resolving customer issues in a timely and accurate manner.
- Travel required to customers within territory.
What You'll Bring to Our Team
Minimum Qualifications- Minimum of 10 years relevant experience to include at least 5 years of outside sales experience.
- Experience working with accounts in the following channels: Online Retailers, Department Stores, Sporting Goods Retailers or Specialty Retail.
- Proven ability to build strong long-lasting relationships with customers, management, and peers built on credibility and trust.
- Proficient communication, presentation, organizational and negotiation skills.
- A natural team player that is comfortable working in a highly collaborative manner alongside cross functional partners.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Previous Sales Experience with CPG or Small Appliance Manufacturers calling on online retailers, department stores, sporting goods retailers, or specialty retailers.
- Small appliance industry experience with a distributor, retailer or manufacturer is a plus.
- Experience in developing and implementing sales territory growth plans across multiple product lines.
- Previous experience setting direction for a sales territory and direct report.
- A desire to win, a desire to help build-out a new space, and the patience and commitment to build the foundation required for us to win long term.
