Family Peer Support Specialist

Description

As our Family Peer Support Specialist, you will work with families who are receiving services focused on mental health diagnoses with one or more members of the family, and in need of a knowledgeable support system to provide guidance.  In this role, you will offer your own story of mental health services and recovery, help clients manage their diagnoses, and navigate peer relationship and various life transitions.  You will work as part of our Behavioral Health Home team and receive meaningful supervision to aid in your own professional growth.    Perks of this role:

What we are looking for:  

• Must meet one of these:
• CIPSS (Certified Intentional Peer Support Services) certification and training- preferred. 
• Willingness to become certified within 9 months of hire as CIPSS
• 18 years of age or older
• A member of your household is receiving or has received services for mental illness diagnoses (PTSD, Anxiety, ADHD, Depression, etc.) and in recovery.  Candidate must be willing to self-identify with clients to aid in their growth.
• Valid driver’s license in good standing (record will be verified through Maine DMV)
• Background check through Department of Human Services of Maine
