Primary Responsibilities:
The Resident Care Manager is responsible for managing the care of residents living in the Community’s licensed apartments, ensuring WA State Boarding Home regulations are followed and resident needs are met. This role supervises the Resident Assistants caring for residents in licensed apartments and acts as a first point of contact for residents and family members either in person or by telephone.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Under direction of the Community Health Director, delivers and evaluates departmental services for residents living in Boarding Home-licensed apartments, within budgeted guidelines.
- Ensures the presence of 24-hour staffing needed for the residents living in licensed apartments either directly or indirectly.
- As directed, reviews the accuracy of the Service Plan with new resident at Move-In and as the plan changes, reports changes in residents’ condition to Community Health Director; shares clear information with the Community Health Director and ensures that the Service Plan is accurate and signatures are in place.
- Performs resident health record audits routinely, ensuring all required material is in place.
- Provides administrative and clerical support to the Community Health Director and Wellness Center staff.
- Creates and maintains departmental documents, forms, and spreadsheets.
- Responds to resident emergencies, per protocol and within scope of practice.
- Supervises the paraprofessional staff.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to perform duties in compliance with established Standard Precautions, fire safety, infection control and sanitation procedures, and Era Living policies and procedures.
- Ability to respond constructively to changes and/or problems encountered in work environment.
- Ability to use a computer, with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Sensitive to the needs and concerns of older adults.
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
- Ability to pass DSHS background check, required.
Education and Experience:
• A High School diploma or GED certificate, required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Certified Nursing Assistant or Home Care Aide Certification required; Registered Nursing Assistant Certification acceptable with proof of graduation from Era Living approved school, a copy of NAR license, and on condition that CNA license is earned within 120 days of hire.
• Previous employee management experience, required.
• Medical Assistant Certification, preferred.
• Experience caring for older adults in residential settings (Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing Facility, or Home Health), preferred.
