Senior AP Manager

Our client seeks a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accounts Payable (AP) Manager to join their finance team. The successful candidate will oversee the accounts payable function, manage a team of 4 AP professionals in a high-volume environment, and drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Responsibilities of Senior AP Manager:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 4 AP professionals.
- Oversee the end-to-end accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
- Manage the AP ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate and complete.
- Resolve complex AP issues and discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Streamline AP processes, reducing cycle times and increasing productivity.
- Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve performance.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and present AP reports to senior management.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of AP processes and procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth and efficient AP operations.
- Communicate effectively with vendors, resolving any issues or disputes promptly.
- Work closely with the finance team to support month-end and year-end closing activities.
Preferred Experience of Senior AP Manager:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. CPA or equivalent certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounts payable, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Experience in a high-volume, process improvement-focused environment, preferably within the financial services industry.
- Experience with Concur/Great Plains is a plus.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and AP best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
This position is fully on-site in Norwalk and offers a salary of up to $135,000 depending on experience.
