Traveling Tilt Wall Construction Superintendent (Distribution & Cold Storage Facilities)

Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Traveling Tilt Wall Construction Superintendent with a strong background in building distribution and cold storage facilities. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the entire construction process, from site preparation to project completion, ensuring that all work is completed on schedule, within budget, and according to high-quality standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in tilt wall construction methods and a proven track record of successfully managing large-scale projects in the distribution and cold storage sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Lead and manage all on-site construction activities for tilt wall projects, ensuring compliance with project plans, specifications, and timelines.
  • Supervision & Coordination: Oversee subcontractors, vendors, and construction personnel to ensure efficient and safe execution of construction activities. Coordinate schedules, deliveries, and work sequencing to maintain productivity.
  • Quality Control: Maintain high standards of workmanship that adhere to original plans and specifications. Conduct regular inspections and provide feedback to ensure the project meets quality standards.
  • Safety Compliance: Implement and enforce safety protocols on site, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Scheduling & Planning: Develop and manage construction schedules, ensuring alignment with project timelines. Monitor progress and make adjustments as necessary to meet deadlines.
  • Cost Management: Track and manage project budgets, making necessary adjustments to control costs and maintain profitability. Ensure proper documentation of expenses and report progress to senior management.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve any challenges or issues that arise during construction, such as delays, design conflicts, or material shortages, in a proactive and efficient manner.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Superintendent in tilt wall construction, specifically in distribution and cold storage facilities.
  • Extensive knowledge of tilt wall construction methods, techniques, and best practices.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale construction projects from start to finish.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel extensively and work at various project sites across the region.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction blueprints, plans, and specifications.
  • Familiarity with construction management software and scheduling tools.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and a commitment to enforcing them on-site.
  • Ability to work in varying climates and conditions associated with distribution and cold storage facility construction.

Education & Certifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field preferred.
  • OSHA 30 Certification required.
  • First Aid/CPR Certification preferred.
  • Additional certifications related to cold storage or distribution facility construction are a plus.

Work Environment: This is a traveling position requiring the candidate to be on-site at various project locations. The role may involve exposure to varying weather conditions, and the candidate must be prepared to work outdoors and in environments that require protective equipment.
