We are looking for an experienced Business Development Lead to join our team in Virginia Beach! The Business Development Lead will execute business development in accordance with company strategic development and growth plans. You will work directly with executive and operations lead staff to identify and qualify business opportunities and lead capture activities to win work in the Virginia Beach market. You will engage with current and potential customers, and present SimVentions capabilities and solutions that align to technical needs of customer organizations. The position requires white paper and proposal development support. You will track multiple opportunities in the funnel and participate in business status meetings with program/technical leads and executive staff.

Responsibilities:

  1. Plan, coordinate, and execute business development activities within SimVentions' government marketplace with primary focus on Hampton Roads.
  2. Identify and qualify opportunities, meet with prospective customers and partners, and present SimVentions capabilities/solutions.
  3. Develop and execute business development strategies that utilize SimVentions’ available contracting methods, including IDIQ contracts, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships.
  4. Build and maintain market position by preparing action plans to develop and maintain relationships with procurement influential federal staff and partners.
  5. Identify potential teaming partners and work across multiple organizations in pursuit of opportunities.
  6. Attend Industry Days and other customer outreach conferences/seminars/expos to represent SimVentions and its capabilities, experience, and expertise.
  7. Participate in high-level planning sessions to meet overall SimVentions strategy.
  8. Assist in RFP and RFI writing and reviews as required to help ensure quality submissions.
  9. Identify key contract vehicles to support potential DoD tasking/funding.
  10. Support and develop material for internal reviews (e.g., QBSRs, gate reviews, strategy events, etc.).
  11. Support our customer (internal or external) with developing quality products and data calls that are delivered by the agreed upon time.

Requirements:

  1. Ability to obtain a DoD Clearance (United States Citizenship Required).
  2. 8-10 years in a federal government customer-facing BD or program execution leadership role.
  3. Experience in developing and executing BD activities within the Hampton Roads market focusing on Navy opportunities.
  4. Experience or strong familiarity with Naval Surface Warfare Center markets and customers.
  5. Experience or strong familiarity with Naval Information Warfare Center markets and customers.
  6. Excellent interpersonal, presentation, organizational, negotiation, and communication skills.
  7. Must be able to manage multiple business development opportunities at different stages of the capture and proposal process.
  8. Experience in using a customer relationship application for entering and tracking BD opportunities.
  9. Experience in the proposal development process.

Preferred Skills & Experience: Experience in executing business development activities in other DoD branches or agencies.

Clearance: A Secret Clearance is required for this position. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. US Citizenship is required to obtain a clearance.

Travel: 25% Travel to attend customer meetings.

The projected annual compensation range for this position is $110,000 - $130,000 (USD). This estimate reflects the standard salary range for this position and is just one component of the total compensation package that SimVentions offers.
