What you’ll be doing:

• Research, design, and develop embedded computer systems software in conjunction with hardware product development
• Improve software quality as delegated by management
• Gather and analyze software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints
• Consult with hardware engineers and other engineering staff to evaluate the interface between hardware and software, and operational and performance requirements of the overall system
• Develop software requirements specifications, test procedures, and other documentation
• Develop software that meets or exceeds product software requirements
• Develop and coordinate software release process and installation procedures

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering
• Proficiency in C and C++ programming languages
• Experience working with DOS and writing Linux shell scripts
• Experience in developing software specifically for AMI (American Megatrends Inc.) BIOS systems
• Background in BIOS development or customization projects
• Familiarity with low-level programming concepts relevant to BIOS development
• Experience with hardware abstraction layers (HAL) in BIOS development
• Proficiency in BIOS configuration and setup utilities
• Experience collaborating with hardware engineers or firmware developers

Preferred Qualifications:

• Background in defense/aerospace industries
