Position Overview

Position Title: Neurology Clinician (Headache)

Salary Range: The posted UC Salary scales set the minimum pay at the appointment as determined by appointment type and if applicable, rank and/or step. The base pay range for this position is $82,200 - $235,400. Salary is negotiated annually. Position Description

The Department of Neurosciences at the University of California San Diego (UCSD) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff and student body and is recruiting for faculty positions at the Assistant, Associate or Professor levels.

We are seeking applications from established or emerging clinician-leaders aiding in developing a comprehensive multi-disciplinary headache program.

The positions are designed for clinicians who function well as members of broad, cross-disciplinary teams and who possess the vision to implement efficient and effective models of cross-disciplinary headache care that leverage the tightly integrated health system at UC San Diego while linking with its world-class research programs.

The successful candidates will partner with departmental and service line leadership to implement a successful strategy to optimize the delivery of care and provide the highest quality care and services to UC San Diego patients.

The selected candidates will participate in the clinical assessment and management of patients with headache, benefiting from the outstanding clinical and scientific environment of UC San Diego and the Department of Neurosciences.

In addition, candidates will also be responsible for teaching fellows, residents, medical students, and visiting scholars.

The appropriate series and appointment will be based on the candidate's background and experience.

Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded.

As a member of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware that there are limitations on outside professional activities, and clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications (required at time of application):

  • Candidates must have a MD degree or equivalent, or MD/PhD in health related fields.
  • Candidates must have completed Neurology or similarly related training, and be Board eligible or certified in Neurology or related fields.
  • Candidates must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Candidates who have completed training in headache or a related specialty are preferred.
