Job Description: The Pivotal Med Supply, LLC Billing and Collections Specialist will be an integral part of the corporate team and will report to the Director of RCM. This role will largely be responsible for insurance billing, collections, appeals, and follow-up. This candidate will need to be adept in working in a fast-paced and growing organization.
Key Responsibilities:
• Build and submit claims via billing software
• Call on claims’ status and payment or denial information.
• Pull EOBs as needed and post payments.
• Resubmit corrected claims.
• Work appeals.
• Refer complex issues to the supervisor for review and or action.
• Adhere to contractual requirements of Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care plans
• Ensure a continuous quality improvement customer service approach by proactively identifying areas of improvement and communicating those ideas to the healthcare team.
• Maintains and promotes positive and professional working relationships with associates and management.
• Perform other insurance collections tasks, projects, & related duties, as assigned
Required Qualifications
• 4+ years of DME specific billing and AR management experience
• Billing Certification through AMBA or Coding Certification through AAPC
• Knowledge of medical policy requirements and guidelines
• Medical collections experience
• Adept at handling sensitive and confidential situations
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Understanding of medical terminology and CPT, HCPC and ICD10 coding preferred
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proficient technical (computer) skills
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize
• Self-motivated with initiative
