What You’ll Do
Samsung’s San Jose Location Group was established in October 2012 to develop market-leading location technology for mobile and automotive applications. US team driving our technology forward for future generation products.
Our main activities include architecture definition, silicon design, software development, and platform integration. The Location Group is now part of Samsung’s Application Processor and Modem Group. We work closely together to develop highly integrated products, and to find opportunities to optimize our products for market success. The group is looking for an experienced Staff GNSS Project Manager.
Location: Hybrid role, working onsite at our San Jose headquarters at least 3 days per week with the flexibility to work remotely the remainder of your time.
Travel: Less than 20% travel
Reports to: Principal Engineer
- Leading Project managers for multiple customers and multiple SoC platforms.
- Plan and develop the project idea for location solution in mobile and wearable SoC.
- Manage resolution of Location system stability and performance of project with internal technical team managers.
- Experience of good customer relations. Maintain and lead customer interactions with other managers.
- Understand mobile SoC and GNSS receiver generals, including satellite tracking, position calculation with and without non-GNSS information, such as sensors or assisted data from network.
- Monitor project progress and set deadlines and interim plans to achieve commercialization success with stability and performance for location solution.
- Evaluate project performance in the end of project. Numerical statistics for better performance, stability, problem lead time and team efficiency.
What You Bring
- Bachelors with 10+ years of relevant industry experience, or Masters with 8+ years or PhD with 5+ years in Electrical Engineering, Geomatics Engineering or relevant disciplines.
- Experience of SW development, System design, or SW engineering regarding location based system.
- Hands-on experience in GNSS receiver for RF, constellation tracking or navigation algorithm.
- Experience with Jira, Gerrit, Git.
- Analysis of complex system to determine anomalies and potential areas of improvement.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
- Fast learning, hard-working, and self-driven.

Base Pay Range: $138,945 — $215,055 USD
