Job Title: Cloud Hardware Architect

Location: San Jose, (Onsite)

Salary: $180,000-$300,000 +Bonus + RSU

About the Team: The Server Platform Team is dedicated to creating efficient server and storage systems that excel in performance and cost-effectiveness. This role provides an opportunity to collaborate with skilled engineers and engage with the latest developments in AI and hardware technologies.


Responsibilities:

  • Research and assess new technologies from industry partners, collaborating on computing and storage solutions.
  • Develop hardware solutions for cloud applications, focusing on computing, storage, databases, and edge computing based on thorough analysis of product designs.
  • Partner with product and research teams to optimize performance and analyze costs.
  • Engage with industry groups to explore emerging standards and contribute to relevant research.
  • Work with technology partners to create proofs of concept (PoC) or prototypes to evaluate new technologies and architectural designs.
  • Travel internationally as required, up to four times a year, including potential destinations in Asia and Europe. A valid passport and the ability to obtain necessary visas are required.


Requirements:


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in circuit board design, system debugging, power/signal integrity, and thermal solutions.
  • 3+ years of experience in server or storage system architecture design or software-hardware integration.
  • Familiarity with performance and power optimization for hardware/software is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of computer system architecture.
  • Knowledge of design principles and applications for key components such as CPUs, memory, SSDs, and networking hardware.
  • Understanding of virtualization technologies, databases, distributed storage systems, and deep learning frameworks.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
