Pharmacy Inventory Technician Trainee (Portland, OR)

The Pharmacy Inventory Technician Trainee actively and accurately processes the receipt of salable goods and supplies into a perpetual inventory control system; and monitors salable product locations to ensure availability for picking.  Maintains flexibility to collaborate with others and accept fluid priorities. 

Special requirement: To be qualified for this role you must be able and willing to initiate the licensure process within the first 30 days, and be licensed within 90 days, to become a Licensed Pharmacy Technician through the Board of Pharmacy.

This position is based at our Pharmacy Warehouse near Gresham, OR. This position requires 40 hours per week, typically Monday through Friday shift with a schedule between the hours of 6:00 am - 5:00 pm and an occasional Saturday. Mandatory participation in all company inventories, currently on a Saturday once per year.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Sorts, unpacks, counts, receives, checks, and stores materials accurately on a daily basis. Products may include pharmaceuticals, controlled substances (only if licensed), and veterinary supplies

  • Recognizes, documents, and reports damaged shipments to drivers, purchasing staff, and vendors upon receipt of product

  • Work closely with pharmacy catalog department regarding new products, SKU changes, generic drug changes, and manufacturer backorders

  • Retains and reviews warehouse documents, packing lists, invoice copies, and reports 

  • Ensures the safety, cleanliness, and security of the receiving warehouse work environment

  • Works with handheld scanning devices and inventory control software to receive, store, and move products

  • Work on Ladders, WAV (electric lift), and pallet jacks

  • Replenishes locations with pharmaceutical and controlled substances (only if licensed) multiple times daily to ensure products are available for daily workflow

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Current Oregon pharmacy technician license / certification in good standing OR the ability and willingness to obtain such licensure within 90 days of hire

  • Ability to work in a team in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment  

  • Strong collaboration skills needed, interacting with all divisions of the company

  • Intermediate computer skills and ability to learn new programs needed; preferably Word, Excel, and shipping/receiving software

  • Accurately excels at repetitive tasks for long periods of time

  • Capacity to start and stop projects seamlessly, despite frequent interruptions, while maintaining attention to detail

  • Must adhere to all company policies and procedures, be accountable, and committed to continuous quality improvement

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 1-3 years of related work experience, preferred

  • Veterinary or Pharmaceutical experience, preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Environment where dogs are present in office areas of building

  • Lifting and shelving items weighing up to 50 pounds repeatedly

  • Ability to work standing on pressurized concrete for long periods of time

  • Occasionally stooping, lifting, and/or bending.

  • Occasionally reaching overhead and using a step ladder.

Pay Range (US based applicants):

Unlicensed “Trainee” (licensure required within 90 days): $17.00 - $18.50 / hour

Licensed or Certified Technician: $18.50 - $22.50 / hour

Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, certifications, relevant education and training, while also considering internal equity.
