The Global Automation Engineer will be responsible for PLC upgrades, working closely with IT teams, senior stakeholders, and integrating systems to Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES). The role will involve adding instrumentation, running projects, and managing capital budgets efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and oversee PLC upgrades across various locations.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure seamless integration of systems.
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders to understand project requirements and provide solutions.
  • Integrate PLC systems with MES for enhanced manufacturing operations.
  • Add instrumentation to existing systems for improved data collection and analysis.
  • Lead and support projects from inception to completion, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
  • Manage capital budgets effectively, optimizing costs and resources.

Profile

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Proven experience in PLC programming, upgrades, and system integration.
  • Strong understanding of MES systems and their integration with PLC controls.
  • Excellent project management skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage budgets.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills when working with cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to travel internationally, as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley).
  • Experience working in a global team environment.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in controls engineering.
