Commensurate with certification and experience based on the Wicomico County Salary Scale for Administrators and Supervisors. Includes employee benefits package.

Contract Unit: This position is part of the Unit II bargaining unit for Administrators and Supervisors
FLSA: Exempt


Qualifications

  1. Eligibility for Maryland teaching certificate with Administrator I endorsement.
  2. Five (5) years successful classroom experience preferred.
  3. Ability to organize, delegate, and supervise.
  4. Knowledge of the Maryland Professional Standards for Educational Leaders.
  5. Knowledge of the Maryland College and Career Ready Standards and effective instructional strategies.
  6. Experience in the Teacher Evaluation Process.
  7. Knowledge of the requirements of the Maryland Comprehensive Assessment Program.
  8. Ability to ensure teachers’ utilization of professional development opportunities by effectively demonstrating strategies and techniques conducive to optimal student performance.
  9. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  10. Demonstrated leadership skills and personal qualifications necessary to work successfully with students, teachers, administrators, parents, and the community.

Responsibilities

  1. Under the direction of the building principal, shares responsibility for the supervision of the instructional staff, clerical staff, and entire elementary program and the routine administrative duties necessary for the operation of an elementary school.
  2. Under the direction of the building principal, shares a collaborative responsibility for the supervision of the custodial and cafeteria staff with the respective central office departments servicing the school site.
  3. Under the direction of the building principal, shares responsibility for the drafting, designing, and updating a comprehensive, fluid School Improvement Plan that will provide students, parents, and staff members the expectations and guidance to ensure the success of all students assigned to the respective elementary school.
  4. Under the direction of the building principal, shares responsibility for the scholastic, discipline, and attendance success of all students assigned to the respective elementary school.
