Key Responsibilities

• Underwriting Leadership:
  • Oversee the underwriting of commercial real estate loans, ensuring adherence to established underwriting guidelines and risk policies.
  • Participate in the investment committee, providing expert analysis and recommendations on loan proposals.
  • Conduct regular reviews of the existing loan portfolio to assess performance, identify potential risks, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with default management to address non-performing loans and implement strategies to mitigate losses.
  • Manage internal risk control policies and procedures to ensure the institution is adequately protected from credit risk.
  • Ensure all underwriting decisions are documented and compliant with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Team Management:
  • Manage a small team of underwriters and appraisal reviewers, providing guidance, training, and support.
  • Develop and maintain a high-performing team capable of meeting the institution's underwriting needs.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience in commercial real estate underwriting and risk management.
• Strong analytical skills, including the ability to assess and quantify financial risks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• In-depth knowledge of commercial real estate lending regulations and compliance requirements.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
