The Swift Group is looking for a highly experienced MS Exchange Systems Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 11 years of experience in engineering and technical support for mission-critical Windows-based environments. The successful candidate will be an expert in Microsoft Exchange Server 2016 or 2019, with a strong background in system architecture, troubleshooting, and project management.This position is located in Herndon, VA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architecture Design & Implementation: Assist in designing and implementing the organization's technology architecture, including hardware and software infrastructure.
- Exchange Server Expertise: Apply advanced knowledge of Exchange Server 2016 or 2019, including Database Availability Groups, to support and manage the Exchange platform.
- System Evaluation & Roadmap Creation: Evaluate the current Exchange environment, develop platform roadmaps, analyze system performance, and recommend corrective and preemptive actions.
- Solution Design & Improvement: Conceptualize, design, and implement solutions to address reported problems. Continuously improve the quality of service provided by the email infrastructure.
- Problem Resolution: Deliver timely and high-quality solutions to customer problems and requests, focusing on root cause analysis, prevention, and knowledge transfer.
- Migration Support: Assist with analyzing and migrating to new Exchange server environments.
- Application Troubleshooting: Investigate issues with applications, servers, and storage, and report the status of issues, corrective actions, and resolutions to management.
- Customer & Team Collaboration: Partner with Premier Technical Account Managers to manage hot-sites effectively, including documented action plans and daily status updates. Participate in triage meetings to share knowledge and resolve customer issues efficiently.
Required Skills:
- 11 years of experience in a relevant engineering role.
- Extensive experience with Exchange Server 2016 or 2019, including implementation and troubleshooting of Database Availability Groups.
- Proficient in troubleshooting Exchange Server and Windows Server performance issues involving Outlook 2016 or 2019.
- Ability to work independently with minimal management supervision.
- Skilled in managing challenging technical issues, setting customer expectations, devising action plans, and communicating effectively.
- Strong understanding of mail routing and Windows infrastructure.
- BA/BS Degree or five additional years’ experience in lieu of a degree.
- US Citizenship and an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance required.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills:
- Experience with architecture, design, disaster recovery, and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of Security Development Operations on iterative development projects.
- Familiarity with a variety of communication technologies and solution architectures.
- Experience with ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems.
- Familiarity with XACTA, GreenLight systems, and Tier 3 & 4 support.
- Experience with Agile Development methodologies.
- Experience with modern software languages (e.g., Java, C++, C#, Python, Perl) or the ability to automate through PowerShell scripting.
