WHAT YOU GET TO DO
A Senior Project Buyer is responsible for the purchase of materials, supplies, equipment, and services needed for the completion of various projects. The Sr. Project Buyer will also support the sales process by working closely with Sales & Project Engineering by managing vendors.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO
A Senior Project Buyer is responsible for the purchase of materials, supplies, equipment, and services needed for the completion of various projects. The Sr. Project Buyer will also support the sales process by working closely with Sales & Project Engineering by managing vendors.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Manage assigned purchases on a project basis
- Develop and execute long-term supply strategy deployment, supplier cost modelling, supplier opportunity assessments, supplier financial analysis, negotiations, long-term contract establishment, continuous supplier performance improvement, and supplier relationship development
- Using superb analytical skills, identifies potential suppliers, screens them, and negotiates favorable payment terms with selected suppliers
- Identify new and alternate sources of supplies, as necessary, to support the sales and engineering process, cost reduction initiatives, and any supplier performance issues
- Negotiate the best-in-class price, payment terms, quality levels, and delivery terms for purchased MHE products and services in compliance with corporate objectives and project requirements
- Perform all necessary duties to support corporate goals as they relate to established supplier quality, total landed cost, and inventory objectives
- Take proactive leadership role in identifying and resolving material availability, quality problems, and service issues
- Coordinate and support on-site supplier assessment/certification audits and continuous improvement activities that drive down total cost and increase total supplier quality
- Execute purchases when required to support sold project activity and manage orders to support project activity. Performs sourcing administrative functions including obtaining signatures for non-disclosure agreements and contracts
- Interface with Project Managers on purchasing items during project roll out
- After formalizing supply contracts with the aid of Legal, monitor supplier performance to ensure contractual obligations are met and to help make the supply procurement process as cost-effective and efficient as possible
- Development and implementation of future-oriented instruments, methods, processes, systems and/or tools in procurement
- Support the group-wide implementation of harmonized processes, policies, internal standards, and software tools such as SAP
- Development and implementation of innovative ideas for improvement
- Ensures the Director Procurement Direct Spend is well informed, at all times, of changes and newsworthy events within the area of responsibility
- Effectively communicates relevant related information within the organization
- Degree in a related field preferred
- Minimum of 3-5 years of material handling industry experience required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- SAP experience preferred
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and rapport building capabilities
- Willingness to travel as needed to meet vendors and attend customer meetings
- Overtime, if required by work
- Occasional Domestic and International travel
- Authorization to work in the U.S
- Passport or ability to obtain passport
- Professional office etiquette is required at all times
- Physical requirements:
- Sitting for long periods of time, standing, walking, speaking, visual acuity, finger dexterity, listening, reaching at arm's length, and lifting up to 50-100 pounds
- 2 remote days per week
