Administrative Specialist
Position
The Tennessee Comptroller of the Treasury is seeking an Administrative Specialist to focus on aiding Division of Investigations staff with administrative work. This position provides requested assistance and supplies appropriate information to citizens and other interested parties. Major responsibilities for this position will include:
- Responding to fraud, waste, and abuse hotline calls and compiling records of calls
- Maintaining the Allegations, Notifications and Tracking System (ANTS)
- Using a high degree of tact and diplomacy when interacting with citizens and officials who contact DOI
- Receiving and distributing divisional e-mails, mail and/or facsimiles;
- Monitoring and analyzing supplies usage and placing supply orders
- Archiving records in accordance with applicable records management
- Attending Comptroller meetings and functions on behalf of the division;
- Authoring internal and external divisional webpages as assigned;
- Releasing investigative reports on the Comptroller webpage.
- Providing assistance to staff of local, state, and federal agencies, contract auditors, vendors, citizens, etc., to accomplish the mission of the division
- Seizing process improvement opportunities to streamline workflows and improve accuracy
- Maintaining and continually improving individual contribution to a service-oriented culture that supports members of the public and leadership
- Communicating clearly and frequently with divisional leadership, team members, and members of the public
- Performing other duties as assigned
Candidate
You are qualified for this position if you meet the following criteria:
- Graduate of an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree or an associate's degree with at least 2 years of administrative experience in a governmental agency
- Experience in administration, criminal justice, or other business environments is preferred
- Exposure to or an understanding of government or publicly funded entities' operations is preferred
- Valid driver's license

- Exercising emotional intelligence and good judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions.
- Dealing tactfully and proficiently with other members of the Comptroller's Office, DOI, and the public.
- Expressing ideas clearly, concisely, and convincingly.

The Office of the Tennessee Comptroller of the Treasury is responsible for the audit of state and local governmental entities and participates in the general financial and administrative management and oversight of Tennessee state government. The Division of Investigations supports the Comptroller's mission of making government work better by investigating allegations of fraud, waste, and abuse in government and publicly funded entities and by working closely with law enforcement and prosecutors on criminal allegations. The division reports the results of its investigations, including significant internal control and compliance deficiencies, to the appropriate parties and also provides requested assistance and appropriate information to citizens, auditors, public officials and policy makers, other state departments and agencies, law enforcement and prosecutorial agencies, and other interested parties. The Division of Investigations has teams in four regions - West, Middle, Mid East, and Upper East - based on geography and judicial districts.
Compensation
