Data Analyst - Commodities - Houston - up to $150k + bonus & package
Cititec Talent has partnered exclusively with a cutting-edge commodities trading firm seeking a Commodities Data Analyst. In this role, you'll work closely with traders and analysts to help to optimise their trading decisions and operations.
This role is perfect for someone with a passion for commodity fundamentals data, a strong understanding of Python, and a desire to work in a desk-aligned position, supporting trading operations. This is an incredible opportunity for someone looking to further develop their technical and analytical skills with the potential to progress into a more senior data position, desk analyst or even a trader role in the future.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the US Power & Gas desk, supporting traders with data analysis and insights.
- Handle pricing and fundamentals data for power and gas markets.
- Develop and implement Python solutions to optimize trading decisions.
- Collaborate with traders and the front office team to ensure accurate, data-driven decision-making.
- Work independently while contributing to the overall success of the desk.
Key Requirements:
- 2-7 years of commercial experience, ideally within power and gas markets (other commodities experience may be considered).
- Proficient Python development/scripting skills.
- Exposure to US Power/Gas market pricing and fundamentals data is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining close collaboration with the trading desk.
- A passion for commodities trading and a keen interest in progressing into more analytical or trading roles.
