Job Description: We are seeking a contractor with expertise in data management to collaborate with us on a contract basis. As a Data Management Consultant, you will work closely with our team to review existing data management plans, provide expert-level recommendations for improvement, and support the implementation and ongoing maintenance of data management efforts, including the development of our performance dashboard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review existing data management plans and processes to identify strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement.
- Provide expert-level recommendations for enhancing data governance, privacy, and management practices.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement data management strategies aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
- Assist in the selection, configuration, and optimization of data management tools, including Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, and Snowflake.
- Support the department-wide implementation of data management initiatives, including training and capacity building activities.
- Provide ongoing support and maintenance for data management systems and processes.
- Contribute to the development of the performance dashboard and other public-facing data visualization projects.
- Must have five (5) years of experience creating and supporting Data Governance program components of Metadata Management, Data Quality, and Master Data Management.
- Must have five (5) years of experience developing and interpreting data models and optimizing data architecture design using various BI/performance management tools (Colibra, Informatica, Cognos) and modeling tools (SQL and Oracle).
- Must have a minimum five (5) years of experience with Tableau, Power BI, and Snowflake in interfacing, analyzing, and defining Business and IT requirements, capabilities, processes, and impacts for data architecture.
- Must have five (5) years of experience applying information architecture principles. At least two (2) years of that experience must be in a lead capacity.
- Must have a minimum five (5) years of experience administering Snowflake Data Cloud, Business Critical Edition, to include: Cloning, Time Travel, and Failsafe, Access control and user management, Data loading and unloading, Query performance tuning, caching, and clustering, Resource management and virtual warehouse scaling.
- Must have a minimum five (5) years of experience in a variety of data analytics areas including data visualization, data management, data governance, data engineering, and data analysis while utilizing the following tools: Tableau, Power BI, Denodo, Snowflake, SQL Server, SQL, Python.
- Must have a minimum two (2) years of experience in data engineering, data integration, data classification, data lineage, meta data management in Purview implementation.
Candidate must reside in Sacramento, CA.
