PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The Logistics Technician I provides effective, efficient, and economical services for the receipt, storage, and movement of materials and components to support Dyneema LP® and Dyneema® fiber production, as well as production support activities for fiber production components.
JOB CONTEXT:
The Biomedical Logistics Technician operates within APM Dyneema LLC to support the DSM Biomedical manufacturing facilities at the Greenville site. Supplying raw materials and shipment of finished goods efficiently and effectively to avoid bottlenecks in the manufacturing processes impacting production plan. Performing SAP transactions in a timely manner to support production and meet customer demand. Must be knowledgeable of CGMP practices to ensure documentation and traceability is always accurate due to FDA and Regulatory compliance standards.
JOB CONTENT:
Key Areas of Accountability / Responsibility
1. All employees have the responsibility to:

5. Abides by APM Dyneema and DSM procedures/policies regarding security, inclusive of: employee security agreements; use of non-disclosure agreements with outside parties; control of DSM intellectual property limited to a "need to know" only basis; no unauthorized use of cell phones, cameras, computers or APM property; reporting security threats and incidents; proper control of APM property and keys.
6. Coordinates freight and ground traffic and associated logistics activities for material flow for the Avient Protective Materials Greenville site to support Medical, Production operations and support groups. Bio-medical point of contact for warehouse related responsibilities. Reports daily shipment activities, delays, and backlogs; provides solutions at departmental team meetings. Kanban liaison coordinating inventory flow, returned products for Quality inspection, and vendor-compliant processes.
7. Work with the Logistics Specialist(Biomedical) to manage the raw materials inventory and new product receiving processes in alignment with global policies and procedures. Uses applicable inventory accounting systems to ensure systems alignment, i.e., SAP. Provides inventory receipt document packets to Bio-medical Quality Lab to initiate product verification and release clearance.
8. Assists Quality Control in segregation and timely scrapping of approved inventory adjustments.
9. Prepares package shipping or palletization and required shipment paperwork, assists Biomedical Customer Service, coordinating FedEx, UPS, DHL, or courier shipment preparations and tracking data.
10. Load and unload internal and carrier freight, and process documentation as required.
11. Move, measure, maintain inventory and store raw, intermediate and finished products.
12. Prepare product boxes and inserts for fiber packaging and prepare full boxes for shipment.
13. Perform inventory related entries in SAP system as required with accuracy.
14. Assist in the training and guidance of other team members.
15. Clean, store, maintain components used in production and production support areas as required.
16. Safely handle liquid and solid hazardous wastes. Load/unload bulk liquid and solids, perform transfers from liquid waste tank, and handle drummed waste.
17. Prepare chemical additives used in the fiber production process.
18. Perform routine inspections of hazardous waste storage facilities, logging required data.
19. Comply with all job-related regulatory and training requirements in a timely manner.
20. Actively promotes team involvement in area. Uses group diversity and individual strengths to positively contribute to the profitability of the company and maintain harmonious working relationships.
21. Responsible for compliance with relevant laws, regulatory requirements, recipes, SOP's, and other related documentation and activities. Ensures Company guidelines and policies relating to quality, safety, housekeeping and cost effectiveness are met.

23. Comply with all job-related safety and other training requirements.
24. Maintain annual training requirements on hazardous waste by reviewing DYNPRO SHE DYN 653 and general awareness presentation. Specific job holders will complete more detailed training as well.
25. Perform other duties as assigned.

Authorized to approve work permits per details included in DYNPRO SHE DYN 026. If so authorized, employee must maintain necessary refresher training to participate in these activities

This position involves work with (supervision of) and/or handling hazardous materials and waste at the APM Dyneema LLC (Greenville, NC) work site. Worker has the appropriate qualifications to read, understand, apply and communicate written and verbal information regarding handling and managing hazardous wastes. Training is required within six months of worker assuming duty, and once a year thereafter. Worker is responsible for proper handling, documentation, inspection and transporting around the facility of hazardous wastes. Worker may also be responsible for responding to emergencies involving hazardous waste.
COMPLEXITY OF THE JOB:
Correctly receive, store, and monitor Dyneema critical raw materials to ensure Fiber and UD production will be supplied as required to meet monthly production plan, immediately reporting insufficient levels to Warehouse Supervisor and Production Planner. Complete all required training and follow procedures for processing of hazardous waste streams generated by Dyneema production. Ensure driver safety at all times while on site during loading and unloading of raw materials.
KNOWLEDGE AND EDUCATIONAL LEVEL:
High school diploma and at least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably in a fibers production environment and/or equivalent military technical experience or training.
REQUIRED LEVEL OF EXPERIENCES:
• Ability to operate forklifts and overhead cranes.
• Knowledge of appropriate safety procedures.
• Knowledge of scheduling procedures.
• Knowledge of changeovers/cleaning/set-up, work instructions.
• Ability to organize, schedule and follow-up on activities.
• Ability to plan buffers to achieve maximum process throughput.
• Basic mechanical skills & knowledge including minor equipment assembly. Tasks involve safely
handling hazardous waste and rigging heavy metal components.
• Ability to maintain accurate records.
• Ability to read gauges, dials, meters and set controllers.
• Ability to follow verbal or written directions.
• Ability to create written procedures to define routine work processes.
• Knowledge of performance standards.
• Ability to coordinate hand-arm manipulations.
• Knowledge of SAP computer transactions in OTC, MM and WM modules.
• Knowledge of applicable site environmental regulations relative to hazardous waste.
