Administrative Assistant with POS Merchant Service Experience
Location : Astoria, NY
Pay : $26-$30 per hour (open to discussion for the right candidate)

Merchant Industry, a growing credit card processing company, is seeking an Administrative Assistant with experience in POS merchant services. The role involves providing administrative support to the operations team, managing merchant and ISO-related tasks, and delivering excellent customer service. The ideal candidate should have strong organizational and communication skills, be detail-oriented, and capable of handling multiple tasks while interacting with merchants and ISOs regularly.
Key Responsibilities :
- Perform general administrative duties (answering phones, scheduling, managing emails, and preparing reports).
- Maintain and organize both digital and physical files, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
- Assist in preparing documents for meetings, presentations, and training sessions.
- Coordinate office supplies and equipment to maintain a smooth office operation.
- Handle merchant service inquiries via phone, email, or in person, providing prompt and accurate information.
- Assist with onboarding new merchants and handle various office tasks.
- Enter merchant data into company systems with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Assist in processing and following up on merchant service applications, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
- Prepare monthly merchant service reports, including transaction summaries and service usage.
- Monitor and update merchant accounts, addressing discrepancies or issues as they arise.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain strong merchant relationships through regular communication.
Qualifications :
- Education :
- High school diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, office administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience :
- At least 2 years of administrative experience is a plus.
- Prior experience in the merchant service industry or working with POS systems is required.
- Familiarity with credit card processing, POS systems (hardware and software), and merchant services programs.
- Skills :
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Google Suite.
- Basic knowledge of POS systems and credit card processing operations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
