Systems EngineerJob Number: 352471Category: Systems EngineeringDescription: Job Title: Systems EngineerLocation: Grand Prairie, TXZip Code: 75051Start Date: Right AwayJob Type: ContractPay Rate: Up to $69.13/hrKeywords: #systemsengineer #aerospacejobsInterim Secret clearance required to start work on programJOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Support the program by developing hazard analyses, software safety assessments, hazardous material management planning and execution.Analyze and recommend safety criteria in system design, equipment and procedures to control or eliminate hazards.Prepare and deliver presentations at technical reviews and customer briefings.Coordinate and lead System Safety Working Group (SSWG) meetings with both internal and external counterparts.Flow down system safety requirements to suppliers and verify design implementation.Assist in requirements development and verification.Reviews specifications, technical documentation, and design changes for adverse impacts to system safety.Support customer and test/operational range requirements.Participates in the development of testing activities to ensure safety requirements are satisfied.Prepare technical documentation and presentation material to support various independent safety board meetings to gain approval on system design.Participates in accident investigations involving damage to products or related facilities and assists in identification of causes and corrective actions.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Must be a US CitizenInterim Secret clearance required to start work on program.Bachelor"s degree from an accredited college in an engineering disciplineExperience developing and implementing a System Safety Program IAW MIL-STD-882Developing and evaluating system safety requirementsFamiliarity with implementing a Software Safety Program IAW AOP-52 and DoD guidelinesWorking knowledge of MIL-STD-882 and its associated analysesStrong written and oral communication skillsAbility to make formal presentations to large groupsInteracts well in a team atmosphere with engineers, suppliers, program managers and customersPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Experience supporting independent government Safety Review BoardsKnowledge of Human Factors EngineeringFamiliarity with missile and launcher systemsModel-based engineering knowledgeExperience with DOORS requirements applicationCandidate should be a self-starter capable of performing tasks with little directionEffective analytical problem solving skills, the ability to perform detail-oriented work with a high degree of accuracyAble to learn and work with System Safety specific software toolsBenefits:Medical / Health Benefits with multiple plan options, Flexible Spending Accounts, Dental and Vision / glasses / prescription contact lens and eye test options available.On the job training / cross-training to develop and expand skills, creating opportunity for advancement and personal development.
