RIGHTECH is a leading nationwide provider of technical staffing services, and we are currently seeking twenty five (25) qualified Data Center Technicians for hyperscale data center builds in the Ashburn corridor. This is a 2 month project working seven days per week and multiple shifts. The project starts in the next two weeks.
Location/schedule: Norther Virginia, Ashburn to Haymarket
Shifts: 24/7 = 6am-6pm and 6pm-6am
Scope of work: Data Center, pulling/dressing/rack/stack/testing
Job Title: Data Center Technician (Construction)
Location: Northern VA (Ashburn, Leesburg, Manassas etc)
Duration: 1.5 - 2 months
Start Date: Monday, November 11th
Our client is a turn-key provider of data center installation services, is currently looking to add twenty five data center construction technicians to their team in the Northern VA market to assist with Hyperscale build outs. These are 2 month plus assignments with a lot of overtime supporting various hyperscale projects. You will be working in construction environments building the infrastructure for a data center.
Data Center Construction Technician:
The primary responsibility is to support the installation of infrastructure and cabling materials related to data center builds outs.
Cable infrastructure and Fiber rough in
Testing
Patching/Porting
Dressing/Piping cables
Rack/Stacking
Cutsheet building
Cabinet installation
Cable management (dressing and labeling)
Cable and Fiber termination
Server rack build out and rack elevation
Install fiber tray, ladder rack, Unistrut, basket tray customer equipment, and cabinets
Material receiving and hardware assembly
Read and follow blueprints set for installation
Follow written and oral communication displaying professionalism
Follow safety guidelines and protocols (Proper PPE, clean up jobsite, OSHA).
Competencies/Skills:
Knowledge of basic hand tools and common hand-held power tools such as drills, hole saws, bandsaws, mesh cutters and crimpers
Knowledge of cable installation practices including dressing, lacing, labeling, structured cabling
Competency with measuring tools
Good work ethic and a willingness to learn
Experience:
1-3 years of relevant job experience.
Relevant job experience is described as job experience in a similar industry or job experience with similar essential duties
Required Tools:
Basic hand tools, Screwdriver (multi-Bit), Torpedo level, Tape measure, Snips, Pliers (needle nose and channel locks) , Cable stripper, punch down tool, modular plug crimper, Flashlight, Fish tape, Electrical tape, Impact driver, Various sizes of wood, metal and masonry drill bits, Various sizes and types of driver bits
PPE:
Safety Vest, Safety Glasses, Work Gloves, Hard Hat, Work Boots (Steel toe or composite)
