Senior Director of Admissions – Medical Education

The Chicago School is building the proposed Illinois College of Osteopathic Medicine (IllinoisCOM), anticipated to open for its first class of students in Summer 2026 with a mission to train exceptional physicians to leverage the interconnection of physical and mental health to provide compassionate, patient-centered care of the highest quality.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Admissions Department at The Chicago School is responsible for recruiting students for academic programs across the university’s campus locations and online. The Admissions Department works closely with The Community Solution Education System, which provides marketing, systems support, and training for The Chicago School.
The Senior Director of Admissions – Medical Education serves as the primary leader of the admissions department within the proposed Illinois College of Osteopathic Medicine (IllinoisCOM). The Senior Director of Admissions will design, implement, and manage a wide range of new student recruitment and admissions functions and services, including but not limited to, all admissions strategies and tactics for the proposed IllinoisCOM. In addition, the Senior Director of Admissions will oversee the day-to-day management of the department and play an important leadership role for the proposed IllinoisCOM.
This is an in-person position at the Chicago campus and will require moderate travel.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES
Enrollment:
- In collaboration with Admissions and IllinoisCOM leadership, develop annual admission budget, strategic plan, recruitment calendar, and goals.
- Implement the university’s and college’s enrollment strategies and manage the Office of Admissions activities to meet enrollment objectives.
- Serve as a leader of the IllinoisCOM Admissions Committee, developing and maintaining the admissions process including setting enrollment goals, processing applications, facilitating admission decisions, and ensuring the COM meets enrollment goals.
- Establish and maintain community, college, and high school relationships and partnerships to create a pipeline of future students for the COM.
- Manage, coordinate, conduct and analyze all weekly, monthly and annual admission reports (including monthly and annual reports from admission events and recruitment efforts).
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with academic department chairs and other institution directors and leaders that aid admission in recruitment efforts such as financial services, student services, community partnerships, and alumni relations.
Personnel Management:
- Hire, mentor, manage, train, and assess Admissions Representatives and admissions managers and other personnel for the COM admissions team.
- Train Admissions Representatives on product knowledge, technology, best practices in the admissions process, and other areas to improve new student recruitment.
Perform Other Duties as Assigned.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or the equivalent in terms of formal education and training.
- Minimum of 6 years admissions experience with progressive growth in leadership roles, and a minimum of 2 years of experience in admissions leadership/management.
- Prior experience working in admissions for a medical school.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to travel to medical school related recruitment fairs and national conferences.
- Computer skills including experience using customer relationship management systems and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Formal education and professional certifications beyond the bachelor's degree level.

Compensation & Benefits
This opportunity is budgeted at $115,000 - $140,000 base compensation. Additional compensation factors may impact total compensation.
