What You Will Be Doing:
As the Information Systems Coordinator for the Alaska Marine Highway System (AMHS), you will play a pivotal role in managing and maintaining the CarRes reservation system, ensuring it operates smoothly and in compliance with US Coast Guard (USCG) requirements. You will lead efforts to resolve operational issues, implement system modifications, and provide expert advice to AMHS management regarding system status. In addition, you will be responsible for deploying to remote terminals and vessels to train staff on the use of CarRes, preparing training materials, and providing timely troubleshooting support both in-person and remotely.
In this role, you will also serve as the shoreside program coordinator for the AMOS maintenance management system, ensuring that vessel maintenance and parts tracking are properly managed. This includes coordinating updates, working with vendors, and providing training to crews aboard AMHS vessels. Your ability to handle high-stress environments, think critically, prioritize tasks, and work collaboratively will be key to ensuring the safety and efficiency of AMHS operations.
