Job Overview
The Regional Sales Director for Sprecher Brewing will work closely with and communicate directly with our wholesale partners to build the Sprecher Brewing brand portfolio in the assigned territory of Texas and the South. Focus will be Sprecher Craft Soda portfolio. Secondary focus as appropriate will be Sprecher Craft Beers. The primary objective of the Regional Sales Director is to increase volume and drive revenue by continuously growing and developing points of distribution (PODs). This individual will report directly to the VP of Sales overseeing the region. Candidate will be required to live in the state of Texas.
Responsibilities
- Develop relationships and work closely with Sprecher wholesaler partners as well as on and off premise retailers.
- Retail Calls - 30-40 accounts per week within assigned market.
- Retail priorities - local chains (working with the wholesalers or independently), national & regional chains, large independents, all other retailers.
- Showcase Sprecher brands to both on and off premise accounts to build awareness, placements, and rebuys.
- Sell incremental displays, cold singles to go and pack-out shelves and coolers during retail calls.
- Maintain and develop existing business relationships through steady and clear communications.
- Negotiate profitable pricing and ensure retail and distributor pricing is accurate.
- Prospect new business according to sales goals and expectations, focusing on highest impact placements first.
- Uphold Sprecher standards in both on and off premise accounts utilizing marketing tools provided.
- Stay in compliance with all company policies and procedures to ensure your personal conduct is within local, state and federal laws.
- Implement and execute all applicable marketing programs with wholesalers and retailers.
- Attend applicable gatherings: account resets, staff tastings, street fairs, sporting events, festivals, etc.
- Conduct market surveys and analysis to identify trends, competitor pricings, account specific promotions, and opportunities.
- Understand and apply sales analytics to retailer meetings, distributors conversations, and business decisions.
- Work with distributor salespeople within the defined territory on a consistent basis.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or combination of relevant experience and education required.
- At least 2-5 years of sales experience in the beverage industry preferred.
- Proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
- Some experience preferred using Vermont Information Processing (VIP) iDig reporting / karma CRM system.
- Strong understanding of the Beverage 3-tier system and chain communication knowledge base preferred.
- Highly organized and able to hit tight deadlines, with limited direction and supervision.
- The ability to work autonomously to achieve weekly, monthly, quarterly objectives.
- Daytime and some overnight travel is required.
- Willingness and ability to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Demonstrates leadership and professionalism among team members, industry peers and wholesale partners.
- Enthusiastic and outgoing with a positive attitude.
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills including verbal and written communication to ensure clear and concise interactions with management, co-workers and vendors/distributors.
- Ability to operate effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Creative thinking and problem solving with the ability to develop and execute innovative strategies that increase sales and market share.
Requirements
- A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance is required.
- Ability to acquire and maintain necessary liquor salesperson’s permit.
- Ability to acquire and maintain any other permits, licenses, etc. that may be required by the Company.
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift, carry, push and pull up to 40 pounds on a regular basis and up to 160 pounds on an occasional basis. Ability to crouch reach and grasp. Ability to sit in car for extended periods of time.
