Stantec is seeking an experienced and versatile civil engineer with design and construction experience including paving, grading, erosion control, stormwater, potable water design and sanitary sewer design and other site development and water/sewer conveyance elements. This is an opportunity for a driven individual to serve as a civil lead on local and regional water treatment, wastewater treatment, and conveyance projects, supporting critical client infrastructure improvement projects throughout Idaho and Stantec’s Northwest and Southwest Regions.

Your Key Responsibilities
Support project team in development of civil design documentation, plans, specifications, and reports for project design elements.
Prepare documentation required for stormwater permitting through local jurisdictions.
Perform quality reviews for documents in various project phases including construction plans, reviewing agency submittal packages, and engineering calculation reports.
Assist in preparing engineering calculation reports including but not limited to: stormwater design, potable water design and sanitary sewer design.
Attend project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants.
Coordinate and keep consistent communication within a multi-discipline team.
Assist in the review of shop drawings and submittals, responds to request for information, prepares site observation reports, and performs other construction administration tasks related to the civil design component of the project.
Assist in the evaluation and selection of civil systems and materials.
Participate in value engineering and basic cost estimating.
Perform calculations to analyze and design civil system components using company standard software.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Self-starter with diligent work ethic and strong attention to detail
Effective communication skills and ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought
Ability to visualize three-dimensional concepts and layouts from diagrams or drawings
Takes initiative on tasks and in coordinating with other members of the design team
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and willingness to learn relevant software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, AdlCPR, StormCAD, WaterCAD, etc.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. Advanced degree desirable.
Registration as a Professional Engineer, or ability to obtain registration within 6 months required.
Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in civil or land development design projects.
Typical office environment working with computers and working at a desk for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
