OverviewThe After-School Aide will help children develop various social and interpersonal skills.ResponsibilitiesAssist other staff members in the pick-up of children from the local public schools and accompanying them back to the Center.Review children’s homework assignments and assist them in completing them correctly.Keep accurate records of children’s assignments and progress.Inform Director of any concerns (social, academic, etc.) of the students.Provide tutoring to students when necessary.Assist and/or organize games, crafts, and other recreational activities.Supervise children to and from park, playground, field trips, etc.Keep accurate records/tracking slips, attendance, lunch counts, etc.Maintain proper staff-to-student ratio at all times.All other duties as directed by Corps Officer and/or Director.QualificationsAt least a Junior or Senior in High School with an outstanding academic report.Maintain an “A” or “B” average in his/her own academic reports.Be able to walk to and from schools (in assisting with school pick-ups).Be able to work outdoors for recreational activities.Be flexible to assist the Director and/or other staff in any necessary tasks.Must understand and support the mission of The Salvation Army.Effective November 1st, all staff working in a licensed childcare center will be required to provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination or undergo weekly COVID-19 testing, per NJ Executive Order 264.Job LocationsUS-NJ-Jersey CityJob ID 2021-9027Category TeachingCompensation Min USD $14.00/Hr.Compensation Max USD $14.00/Hr.Type Regular Part-Time
