S3 is a Credit Union Service Organization (CUSO) which is an organization, owned by credit unions. We serve credit unions by supporting their operations and delivering world class service. We support the credit union members with their loans, deposits and other financial needs to achieve their goals.
The Home Equity Closer will be part of the talented Home Equity Closing team. This role will be responsible for reviewing loan files to prepare settlement documents, book loans to the credit union core systems to verify all pertinent information has been successfully transferred over. Provide excellent service to the members ensuring they understand what to expect prefunding and post funding. This role requires excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to adjust to changing business needs.
TOP JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct a thorough review of the loan file received from the processor.
- Prepare closing documents for delivery to settlement agent and member.
- Responsible for disbursing loan proceeds on funding date which could include internal disbursements, issuing checks, and wires as needed.
- Book and disburse loans in the credit unions’ core system accurately.
- Responsible for member communication to provide funding details prior to closing.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- 2 years of relevant work experience in the finance industry; home lending experience preferred.
- Knowledge of State and Federal laws pertaining to the mortgage banking industry (ie: RESPA, TILA, ECOA etc.)
- Candidate must be highly organized and able to handle a fast paced environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary.
- Excellent customer service skills with strong attention to detail.
- Time Management skills and the ability to prioritize workload based on department SLA’s and member needs.
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team and to collaborate with others.
- Positive attitude and team-oriented.
- Ability to function in an ever changing environment.
