Reporting to the Chief Product Officer, the VP of Product of Engineering (Custom .NET) is responsible for overseeing teams of software platforms and providing leadership, vision, product strategy/roadmap and direction for the platform engineering organization. This position is responsible for recruiting, developing and retaining talent, as well as ensuring the staff has the skills and capabilities to meet business needs. They oversee the implementation of platform engineering initiatives and are responsible for championing best practices and ensuring initiatives achieve business outcomes. This individual should be a demonstrated leader with the ability to assimilate multiple concurrent projects and prioritize key initiatives that align with C-Suite strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times;
  • Create, build, and guide the overall strategy and execution for homegrown Custom .NET software application products at Clean Harbors;
  • Understand integration concepts to integrate Custom .NET software with SaaS and On-Prem third-party software;
  • Identify the “why” of the product, establish a vision, and align that vision with the company business objectives;
  • Provide thought leadership, strategic insight, and clear communication to the platform engineering team on the strategy and roadmap for multiple complex internal software;
  • Understand the problems and needs of the customers and ensure positive product experiences and product success;
  • Recruit and develop a dynamic platform engineering team to build, launch, and scale enterprise software applications;
  • Oversee and drive end-to-end application development ensuring the standards are followed for the entire SDLC lifecycle;
  • Work closely and collaboratively with all players of the MIS team beginning with the platform owners along with the architects and the development team on large multi-team, multi-quarter projects to deliver robust, scalable high-quality software applications;
  • Collaborate with cross-functional business stakeholders to define and scope large multi-team, multi-quarter projects. Ensure adoption of the project including rollout and implementation phases upon completion of the development lifecycle;
  • Track key metrics for the different roles in the SDLC lifecycle for continuous improvement within the MIS organization and hold team members accountable;
  • Track progress, assess risks, coordinate delivery, and actively communicate contingency and mitigation plans for the team;
  • Work cross-functionally with senior business leaders, including C-Level executives, representing sales and marketing, finance, human resources, and legal to ensure their objectives are met, opinions are considered, and plans communicated;
  • Collect and analyze feedback from customers, stakeholders, and other teams to shape requirements, features, and end products.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Business Administration;
  • At least 10 years of proven software Product Management experience;
  • At least 7 years of proven experience leading Product Management teams;
  • Proven ability to build, launch, and scale software products;
  • Experience in leading product or applications teams working on building cross-functional software that integrates with Oracle or Salesforce products is a big plus;
  • Ability to handle many concurrent projects and proactively reprioritize to meet business and product priorities without needing guidance;
  • Experience working with Engineering teams as a Product Manager and demonstrable experience leading cross-functional teams to define, execute and iterate on large multi-team, multi-quarter projects;
  • Comfortable working with SQL or spreadsheets to analyze data as well as conducting research through various discussions with customers and teammates.
