Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Traffic Engineer III to be based in the following locations: Orange, CA, Los Angeles, CA Ontario, CA and Sacramento, CA.

Job Summary/Responsibilities:

1. Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer
2. Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures
3. Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests
4. Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments
5. Identifies discrepancies in results
6. Provides guidance to entry level engineers
7. Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision
8. Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works
9. Performance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional position

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• BA/BS + 4 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
• EIT Certification

Preferred Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering
• EIT Certification
• 6+ years of Traffic Design experience
• 2+ years of Caltrans experience
• Design Experience with Traffic Signals, Ramp Metering, ITS elements, Highway Lighting and Signing and Striping
• Design Experience with Stage Construction, Traffic Handling plans, and TMP reports
• Preferred design experience with BRT, LRT, and Rail Crossings
• Experience with Traffic Analysis
• Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office programs and other relevant software programs (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
• Must be highly self-motivated with the ability to successfully multi-task, perform detail-oriented work, work independently, and demonstrate effective time management skills
• Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures
• Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving design calculations, analysis, planning, and writing technical reports
• CA PE or TE is highly preferred

Additional Information

Offered rate of compensation (California locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $80,756.40 - $149,399.34.
