Department Profile
The Finance Division reports to the Chief Financial Officer and consists of some 3,000 employees worldwide. Finance protects the Morgan Stanley franchise by serving as guardian of the Firm's books and records, and by contributing to firm wide risk management and risk reduction. This division maintains relationships with Morgan Stanley's various industry and government regulators, and also serves as the conduit of financial information to the outside investment community. Finance plays a critical role as advisor to Morgan Stanley's various businesses and its senior management team.


Finance is responsible for overseeing the accounting and financial and regulatory reporting for the Firm. They prepare external financial reports for public filings and regulators. For internal reporting Finance, along with Financial Planning and Analysis (FPA), summarizes, plans and forecasts the organization's financial position, including income statements, balance sheets, and analyses of future revenues, expenses and earnings. Finance is comprised of Business Unit Controllers, Infrastructure Controllers, Accounting, Regulatory and Reporting groups, and Valuation Review.


Position Description
As part of the Wealth Management Finance PMO organization, the individual will be responsible for managing small and large projects across the WM Finance organization.


Primary Responsibilities

  1. Assist PMO team to manage enterprise-wide projects from inception through implementation; Ability to organize and prioritize work.
  2. Ensure comprehensive documentation of requirements, design, testing and implementation.
  3. Assist in tracking and follow-ups on all project-related issues.
  4. Assist in ensuring all resources are entered into the project tracking tool for accurate financial reporting.
  5. Assist in documenting project status to senior management.
  6. Build and maintain partnerships across the Finance team, IT and other business/product areas to drive successful project execution.

Qualifications:

  1. BS/BA degree required.
  2. 5+ years post-college experience in financial services industry.
  3. Understanding of project management policies and/or corporate finance.
  4. Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects, manage expectations and complete deliverables in a timely manner with exceptional attention to detail.
  5. Strong interpersonal collaboration and team skills including working with cross-functional teams - proven flexibility, adaptability and reliability.
  6. Self-starter with exceptional project management skills and sound business judgment.
  7. Excellent presentation skills.
  8. Expert level knowledge of MS Office with emphasis on PowerPoint, Word and Excel.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $70,000 and $105,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
