Major Duties:

  1. Coordinates the business continuity plan and testing development process within Technology.
  2. Conducts studies to determine the required level of recovery intervention necessary for continuing bank operations.
  3. Consults with individual areas, identifying needs, gathering information and analyzing data to assist in the development of a business continuity plan and associated testing.
  4. Analyzes, reviews, critiques, and tests business continuity plans and recommends changes as appropriate.
  5. Consults with corporate systems to ensure appropriate backup systems are in place and have been tested to meet established recovery timeframes.
  6. Coordinates the testing of the bank's overall business continuity plan including cyber activities.
  7. Coordinates the successful implementation of business continuity solutions through the monitoring of technology plans and processes - modifying as needed to accommodate unexpected events.
  8. presents technology business continuity plans and processes to internal and external clients to assure them their needs will be met during an incident.
  9. Creates and revises guidelines, instructions, surveys and forms for the business continuity plan process.
  10. Interacts with all levels throughout the organization to present the technology business continuity program ensuring that workable plans and testing scenarios are created.
  11. Prepares management reports regarding individual plans and overall plan status as necessary.
  12. Maintains awareness of current legal/compliance requirements for business continuity plans and standards. Interprets and applies principles to maintain compliance.

Knowledge:

Knowledge of disaster recovery planning and business resumption planning usually acquired through related experience to coordinate the planning and recovery processes. Knowledge of current communication and systems technologies usually acquired through formal education or previous experience to test and revise plans to ensure recovery. Knowledge of legal requirements for financial institutions regarding plan documentation and board review requirements to ensure plan compliance. Negotiation and organizational skills for plan development and implementation. Personal computer skills for monitoring plan statuses and management reporting. Experience with creation and facilitation of testing is preferred.

Experience: 3-5 years of business continuity/ disaster recovery and systems experience; cyber testing experience preferred.
