  • Pay Range: $28.00-$33.00/HR
  • Reporting To: Human Resources Manager

POSITION SUMMARY
As the Human Resource Assistant/ Payroll Coordinator you will be responsible for processing the payroll for all Libertana and its entities along with supporting the HR Department with various administrative tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS
  1. 5+ years of HR experience required.
  2. 2+ years of payroll experience.
  3. Bilingual in Spanish is a must
  4. Bachelor's degree in human resource management or related field strongly preferred.
  5. PHR or SPHR certification or any other advanced accreditations preferred.
  6. Previous experience leading and working with a team to meet daily, weekly, and quarterly goals.
  7. Knowledge of California employee benefits, unemployment, worker's compensation, leave of absence and other related employee rights.
  8. Experience with ADP preferred.
  9. Proficient in the use of computers and Microsoft Suite.
  10. Data entry experience and knowledge of spreadsheets required.
  11. Strong effective written and verbal communication.
  12. Broad knowledge of human resource topics, including compensation, performance management, talent development, policy compliance, etc.
  13. Must be able to take direction and function as a team member. Has the ability to establish and maintain good communications and relationships with office, field, and administrative personnel.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following is a representation of the major duties and responsibilities of this position. The agency will provide reasonable accommodation to allow otherwise qualified applicants with disabilities to perform essential functions.
  1. Process weekly payrolls for all Libertana and its entities through ADP.
  2. Review reports and check for payroll accuracy.
  3. Review and verify timesheets and attendance records to ensure proper payment.
  4. Calculate and process manual checks for bonuses, missed payments, terminations etc.
  5. Assist with year-end processes, including the preparation of W2's, ACA compliance/1095's and other tax documents.
  6. Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues, deductions and benefit premiums.
  7. Assist with audits and ensure payroll documentation is maintained in compliance with company policies.
  8. Ensure compliance with federal, state and local payroll regulations and tax laws.
  9. Process and notify employees of wage garnishments.
  10. Process new benefit enrollments; maintains benefit records; coordinates open enrollment sessions and works with third party administrators.
  11. Process health insurance/child support orders.
  12. Oversees Leave of Absences, including tracking, documenting, and sending notices to employees to ensure full compliance with state and federal regulations.
  13. Coordinates and monitors premium payments with employees on leave of absence.
  14. Enforces company policy and procedures.
  15. Processes employment verifications and letters as needed.
  16. Assists with other duties as assigned

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel and use of hands and fingers to operate computer, telephone, and keyboard on a frequent basis (Up to 75% of the time).
  • Close vision requirements due to computer work.
  • Light to moderate lifting may be required (up to 25lbs).
