**Job Title:** Echo Tech/Cardiac Sonographer
**Job Specialty:** Cardiac Sonographer

**Shift:** Day 3x10-Hour (07:00 - 17:30)

**Experience:** Minimum 2 years required
**License:** Valid State License required
**Certifications:** ACLS, BLS, RCS, ARDMS
**Must-Have:**
- Experience with stress echocardiogram
- Epic experience preferred
**Job Description:**
- Competently perform diagnostic cardiac sonography procedures to assess cardiac structures and hemodynamics as per applicable standards and organizational policies.
- Responsible for commonly performed echocardiography procedures with a high level of competence.
- Perform transesophageal echocardiograms with or without three-dimensional imaging, intra-operative transesophageal echocardiograms, and structural heart procedures in the cardiac Cath lab.
- Conduct complex congenital pediatric echocardiograms.
- May be responsible for performing specific procedures or orienting new staff.
**Job Accountabilities:**
- Perform a variety of diagnostic cardiac sonography examinations to ensure optimal results.
- Operate a variety of complex stationary and mobile diagnostic equipment.
- Ensure timely completion of routine and priority tasks.
- Prepare for and assist physicians in diagnostic procedures and invasive imaging.
- Educate patients on procedures, medications, or contrast media, alleviating fear and anxiety.
- Foster a teaching environment that enhances the skills and confidence of students and new technologists.
**Administrative Responsibilities:**
- Perform clerical tasks, such as answering phones and updating patient records.
- Complete accurate documentation related to patient care and procedures.
- Inventory and order necessary supplies to maintain stock levels.
**Safety and Compliance:**
- Implement protection devices and safety standards to minimize radiation exposure.
- Maintain a clean, neat, and safe working environment, ensuring equipment functionality.
- Record quality control results, reporting malfunctions as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient information and comply with all regulatory standards.
- Administer and document medications and contrast media according to regulations.
- Retain certification and complete mandated education requirements for accreditation and licensure.
**Additional Information:**
- Possible weekend shifts may be required.
- Must be willing to travel as per job requirements.
