Position: Director of Sales

Reports To: Director of Operations or General Manager

The Director of Sales is responsible for leading all sales efforts and implementation of the sales plan for all profit centers; maintain sales awareness throughout property; teach, train, counsel, and lead sales staff in consistently exceeding execution & production goals; ensure customer satisfaction; maintain communications with corporate staff, develop sales projections, and implementation overall sales plans for each resort property.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Develop & maintain a sales culture that focuses on driving sales revenue that consistently leads the competition.
  2. Hands-on sales responsibility with supervisory accountability for the daily activities of any reporting Sales Managers, providing them with the leadership and inspiration necessary to implement effective sales strategies that maximize revenue and create awareness.
  3. Management of the daily operations, directing the effort, executing, and exceeding weekly sales call goals, teleprospecting calls, hotel site tours and cold call goals.
  4. Hands-on professional with a passion to motivate others and a willingness to personally demonstrate a successful method of selling beyond goals and expectations.
  5. Communicate and work effectively with General Managers and lead managers, in a manner that fosters close teamwork and alignment with the business goals of each property.
  6. Provide leadership and inspiration necessary to implement effective sales strategies that maximize revenue.
  7. Mentor & develop Sales Managers, while effectively implementing and monitoring sales action plans in a positive work environment.
  8. Proactive sales approach to saturate and penetrate accounts that meets the hotel's quarterly goals.
  9. Professional written correspondence, proposals, bids and follow-up.
  10. Other and all duties, projects, and tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

  1. Three to five years of hotel sales leadership experience preferred.
  2. Ability and skills to mentor & develop Sales Managers, while effectively implementing and monitoring sales action plans in a positive work environment.
  3. Knowledge of hotel operations, comp set rates, positioning, discounts, promotions, and packages is required.
  4. Self-starting personality, high motivation, and enjoy competition.
  5. Clear, concise verbal and written communication skills.
