Description:

The Commercial Supply Chain Planner performs multiple activities related to the operation of the Supply Chain. The Commercial Supply Chain Planner applies proficiency in basic materials planning and logistics to execute upon production and inventory plans and has the emerging ability to contribute to plan development. The Commercial Supply Chain Planner analyzes and solves problems in straightforward situations, leveraging technical experience and judgement.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs inventory movement transactions and reconciliations between warehouse databases and the internal material management software system
  • Investigates variances and system error logs, and supports projects to enable automatic Electronic Data Interchange (EDI)
  • Executes purchase orders for suppliers and coordinates material shipment requests and deliveries
  • Responsible for handling accountability and destruction of rejected, returned or unusable materials
  • Represents Supply Chain department on assigned project sub-teams and/or task forces and, with general guidance, executes supply chain production activities
  • Support internal stakeholders and contract manufacturing partners for specific projects/activities and/or to resolve any issue that might jeopardize supply
  • Creates draft production and inventory plans with general guidance based on material requirements analysis in support of projects
  • Implements process improvements to reduce lead-time and eliminate non-value-added activities
  • Works with various cross-functional groups (such as Trade & Distribution, Quality, Tech Ops, Regulatory, suppliers, etc.) to proactively and collaboratively resolve issues that may block the timely flow of materials or projects
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong ability to manage own work load and troubleshoot issues in a fast-paced environment
  • Timely responsiveness and close attention to detail are required
  • Understanding of supply planning/production scheduling; may escalate unusual or complex problems
  • Ability to apply conceptual knowledge of supply chain methods/theories while acquiring deeper knowledge of applicable regulations (e.g., GMP, GCP, Part 11)
  • Works effectively across departments and levels, building and maintaining productive relationships
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to exchange relevant, and at times complex, information cross-functionally and ensuring understanding
  • Experience with Oracle ERP and/or Kinaxis RapidResponse platforms is a plus
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's in relevant discipline
  • Typically requires 1-3 years of relevant work experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
