Essential Functions

• Overseeing the accounts payable department and ensuring all of the departments tasks are completed on time.• Drive continuous improvement in processing and AP data management.• Responsible for the training and supervision of the Accounts Payable Staff.• Process of vendor invoices in accordance with policies and procedures established by General Accepted Accounting Principles and in compliance with SOX.• Processing payment runs and recording wire payments through AP.• Resolves invoice and payment discrepancies.• Reconcile accounts payable subledgers to the general ledger.• Process the yearly escheatment.• Provide GAAP accounting support for AP related accruals.• Performs the closing of the accounts payables books monthly.• Prepares and processes 1099 information at year-end in adherence to IRS regulations.

Education & Experience Requirements

Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or educational equivalent. 5 years experience. Broad knowledge of accounting principles and practices. Excellent communication skills. Excellent analytical skills. Ability to work in a team environment. CPA preferred.

Position Summary

Coordinates and supervises an accounting function which may include maintenance of general ledger, A/P, A/R, cash disbursements or other functional area. Coordinates the production of various financial reports that summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position. May participate in complex general accounting projects. Supervises a group or section of accounting personnel. Handles special projects, as assigned.
