Role Description:
The Procurement Specialist will oversee and manage all procurement activities, ensuring the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of high-quality raw materials, ingredients, and other supplies necessary for our nutraceutical products. This role involves strategic planning, supplier relationship management, and collaboration with various departments to meet the company's procurement objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute procurement strategies to ensure cost-effective purchasing while maintaining high-quality standards.
Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.
Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure advantageous terms.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and monitor their performance.
Collaborate with R&D, Quality Assurance, Sales & Marketing, and Production departments to understand and meet their procurement needs.
Ensure the timely delivery of materials and services to support production schedules.
Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, supplier contracts, and performance metrics.
Monitor market trends, industry developments, and regulatory changes to identify potential risks and opportunities in the supply chain.
Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards.
Resolve any issues related to procurement and supplier performance promptly and effectively.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Procurement/Buyer or Supply Chain Role, preferably in the nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, or food industry.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in procurement software, MRP/ERP, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- In-depth knowledge of supply chain management, procurement best practices, and industry standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Knowledge of the nutraceutical industry (preferred).
