Job Description
The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) is a member of both the executive and physician leadership teams. The CMO cooperates to establish and monitor clear, measurable expectations for clinical quality, coordination of care, patient safety and adherence to regulatory requirements. In cooperation with other clinical leaders, the CMO directs the maintenance of policies and procedures associated with patient care. The CMO fosters a culture of provider leadership and establishes framework for communicating and managing behavioral expectations for health care providers practicing at District facilities. The CMO cooperates with the executive team, physician leaders and Board to evaluate the adequacy and appropriateness of the clinical services provided to residents and patients of the District including a multi-year, system wide, medical staff development plan. The CMO assists in the development of annual and long-term fiscal goals including productivity objectives consistent with District policies, resources, budgets, and mission vision and values. The CMO leads the district's vision to support learning and being a teaching institution. The CMO maintains an active, part-time practice of medicine.
Qualifications
What is required...
  • Graduation from an approved school of medicine and completion of an approved residency in an area of specialty
  • Board Certified and licensed to practice in Washington State
  • Ten (10) years clinical experience in both hospital and outpatient settings
  • Five (5) years clinical administrative experience in a supervisory role

Additional Information
Wage: Wage range starts at $267,467/year to $406,203/year. Actual wage will be determined based on previous years' of applicable experience.
FTE: 1.0 = 40 hours/week; FTE will be split between Administration and Medical Practice
