Overview and Responsibilities:
PIX, the CBS owned and operated station in the Bay Area, is searching for an experienced News Producer who thrives on setting the news agenda for the dynamic Bay Area community! The ideal candidate will be a creative problem solver, capable of communicating complex stories to our diverse audience with fresh and engaging approaches. This person will play a pivotal role in crafting the content and quality of our morning newscasts, ensuring they meet the highest standards of journalistic excellence.
This position will require you to work closely with our team of anchors, reporters, photographers, editors, and fellow journalists to craft engaging news segments. We are looking for someone who will contribute significantly to the station's goal of growing digital-first content, staying ahead in the ever-evolving media landscape!
Key Responsibilities:
- Originate, research, write, produce, and edit compelling news segments for television and digital platforms.
- Exhibit strong editorial judgment, effective communication, and critical thinking skills to ensure the highest quality journalism.
- Demonstrate adaptability and composure in fast paced situations within the control room.
- Adopt change and innovation, by seeking new ideas and approaches to connect with our audience.
- Ensure accurate grammar, spelling, and attention to detail in all content produced.
Basic Qualifications:
- At least 5 years experience of broadcast or cable news.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- Experience on INEWS/ENPS or equivalent news computer system.
Additional Qualifications:
- Experience working with video editing systems.
- Familiarity with streaming platforms and a working knowledge of digital video production techniques and online content management.
Hiring Salary Range: $95,000.00 - 105,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
