We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as an Mailroom Processing Clerk for our Mail Sorter and Prep Team and act as Back Up Lead as needed. This role involves overseeing the sorting and preparation of incoming and outgoing mail, managing a team of Mailroom, and ensuring the efficient flow of mail within the organization.
Job Duties:
Team Leadership:

  • Back up Lead for a team of Drivers/Mailroom Clerks.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to team members as needed.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with all drivers, carriers, clients etc.
  • Serve as backup for Manager, as needed.
  • Data entry
  • Handles any additional responsibility which may be assigned.
Mail Sorting and Preparation:
  • Set up equipment, load materials, clear jams, and resolve other simple malfunctions as needed.
  • Open, organize, sort and research mail and documents.
  • Use copiers, scanners, mail openers, and labeling equipment.
  • Ensure accurate identification and categorization of mail items.
  • Oversee the preparation of outgoing mail, including packaging, labeling, and postage.
Equipment Maintenance:
  • Oversee the maintenance of sorting and prep equipment as needed.
  • Coordinate with the maintenance team to address any equipment issues promptly.
  • Ensure team members are trained in the proper use and care of equipment.
Communication and Coordination
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate mail processing.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and serve as the main point of contact for escalated issues.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
  • Minimum of 1-year office related experience
  • Valid driver license
  • Clean driving record
  • Proven experience, preferably in a mail sorting role.
  • Strong organizational and strategic planning skills.
  • Ability to make decisions quickly and efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to work independently or as a part of a team
  • Consistent attendance and timeliness
  • High attention to detail
  • Time management skills
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds

Schedule: 8-hour shift. Monday-Through Friday. 6:30am-2:30pm
Occasional overtime may be required based on business needs.
