Job Description:

1. Juris Doctor Degree or Doctor of Law Degree (J.D.)
2. At least 2 years of work-related experience in a law firm, corporate legal, or government legal department.
3. At least 2 years of work-related experience in a corporate legal setting handling complex assignments related to regulatory, public law, or healthcare issues.
4. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret laws & regulations.
5. Excellent communication and written skills.
6. Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
7. Ability to function as a team player.
8. Strong computer software knowledge including Outlook, Word for Windows, Excel, and PowerPoint; Westlaw, and the Internet.
9. Persuasion skills: Position interacts with government agencies to meet applicable requirements.
10. Ability to discern the appropriateness of whether to persuade and to successfully persuade organizations to apply regulations and rules in a manner that supports clients' mission.
11. In drafting legal documents, must be able to explain, develop, and persuade internal clients concerning recommended provisions, even if they seem unwieldy or require further negotiations to protect clients' interests.
12. Must be able to persuade superiors that research results may suggest alternative strategies.
