Description:

We are seeking an Investment Associate with 2-3 years of professional experience, a great attitude, high energy, and the ability to work successfully on a small but growing team to join us at our Salt Lake City, UT office. Under the direction of the firm's CIO, the Investment Associate will be responsible for a wide variety of investment- and business development-related tasks such as supporting fund manager due diligence, investment monitoring, investment pipeline management, client reporting, market commentary, impact reporting, and new business material creation.

An ideal candidate will have a financial services background and excellent attention to detail, in addition to the ability to work well under tight deadlines, manage priorities effectively, and work both independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment. They will be excited to wear multiple hats to support business growth, such as operational and administrative responsibilities, in addition to investment work. This position is a full-time opportunity.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of the CIO, assist with the due diligence of market-rate and catalytic impact investment strategies across asset classes, with an emphasis on private fund managers in private equity, venture capital, real assets, and private credit. 
  • Oversee the organization of the Investment Team's pipeline for new managers, including database maintenance in Wealthbox, manager meeting follow-ups, and participation in Investment Committee meetings.
  • Produce investment briefs for both internal and external parties based on manager meetings and independent research.
  • Take ownership of the production of client-facing materials including quarterly market commentary, investment memos, rebalancing recommendations, Addepar performance reports, and other educational materials.
  • Execute on ad hoc research projects, such as investment landscape mapping, as directed by the CIO.
  • Prepare pitch decks and other collateral for prospective clients.
  • Oversee the firm's Addepar instance, performing any necessary data cleanup or system maintenance.
  • Collate key impact metrics across managers to generate individualized impact reports for each client household.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree required.
  • 2-3 years professional experience in investment advisory, investment banking, or consulting, with a preference for client-facing experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, time management, and organizational skills.
  • High level of honesty and integrity with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility.
  • Self-starter, able to meet deadlines and execute proactively with minimal oversight.
  • Comfortable forming opinions and communicating them verbally or in writing with the broader team.
  • Ability to thrive in a demanding, dynamic environment while balancing competing priorities.
  • Life-long learner with an awareness of their strengths and weaknesses; able to take feedback and act upon it quickly.
  • Passion for investing with a mission-driven lens preferred, willingness to become well-versed in impact investing and related modalities required.
  • Flexible and able to adapt in a fast-faced, startup environment.
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office Suite, above-average Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Based in Salt Lake City, UT or willing to relocate.

Base Salary Range: $90k-$130k DOE

Bonus: Discretionary, Based on Performance
