GIS Data Analyst

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., GIS, Geography, Computer Science, Statistics) or equivalent practical experience
• 3+ years of professional experience as a Data Analyst, with a focus on GIS
• Proficiency in Python for data manipulation, analysis, and visualization
• Strong SQL skills for querying and managing relational databases
• Experience with FME for spatial data integration and transformation
• Knowledge of and experience with RDBMS (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL)
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Responsibilities

• This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team and play a crucial role in shaping data-driven strategies for our client's organization
• This role will be three days a week hybrid out of our client's Downtown Atlanta location
• Utilize your expertise in GIS to analyze and interpret spatial data, providing valuable insights for decision-making processes
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver actionable recommendations
• Develop and implement Python scripts for data manipulation, analysis, and visualization
• Write and optimize SQL queries to extract and transform data from various sources
• Utilize FME (Feature Manipulation Engine) to integrate and transform geospatial data across different formats
• Manage and maintain relational database management systems (RDBMS) to ensure data accuracy and accessibility
• Collaborate with stakeholders to design and implement data visualizations, maps, and reports to effectively communicate findings
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies related to GIS and data analysis
